The patron-in-chief and Chairperson for the e-committee is Chief Justice of India Dr Justice D.Y. Chandrachud.

CJI Chandrachud has strongly encouraged all the High Courts of India to make their digital infrastructure accessible to persons with disabilities. As per the CJI, making digital infrastructure accessible to persons with disabilities is a constitutional and statutory duty. In conformity with the same, he has suggested a series of structural interventions for all High Courts of India.

The e-committee of the Supreme Court has strived to make the digital infrastructure of the Indian Judicial system more accessible to persons with disabilities which has been a core component of the e-committee's work.

The measures for making digital infrastructure accessible is a significant step in enabling legal professionals with disabilities to participate in the profession on the same footing as their able-bodied counterparts and it is a way forward in creating an accessible and inclusive legal system.
