A petition has been filed before the Delhi High Court seeking the postponement of the NEET-UG exam, which is to be held on July 17.

The matter was mentioned today before the division bench comprising of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad, which listed the matter for urgent hearing tomorrow.

In addition to postponing the nation-wide medical entrance exam, the petition also seeks an extra-attempt for the students. Advocate Mamata Sharma mentioned the petition today morning for urgent listing.

The plea has been moved by 15 aspirants seeking a direction to set aside the examination schedule dates July 17 of NEET-UG 2022 as mentioned in the notification issued by National Testing Agency.

It also seeks directions on the respondent authorities to issue a fresh notification rescheduling the date of NEET-UG 2022 after considering the grievances raised by the petitioners by way of representation dated May 12, 2022 and July 8, 2022.

The plea also seeks direction to conduct NEET-UG 2022 Phase 2 for the academic session 2022 considering huge distance of examination centre ranging between 150 to 300 kms for thousands of students during the flood situation across the Country.

A direction has also been sought for setting up a grievances or complaint redressal mechanism to decide all complaints raised in respect of the examination within a time bound manner.
