The Supreme Court is set to live stream proceedings of the ceremonial bench headed by Chief Justice UU Lalit on his last working day on Monday, November 7. The live stream can be watched on the Supreme Court's website, a notification issued by the Supreme Court reads.
Earlier on August 26 too, the Supreme Court's proceedings were live-streamed for the general public on the last day of the then CJI, NV Ramana through the webcast of the National Informatics Centre (NIC). It was the first time that live-streaming had happened in the Supreme Court since the 2018 verdict which granted approval for live-streaming of the proceedings of the Apex Court in principle.
Presently, the Constitution Bench hearings in the Supreme Court are being live-streamed. The proceedings can be watched on the Supreme Court's own platform webcast.gov.in/scindia/
As per custom, the outgoing Chief Justice of India shares the bench with the next Chief Justice of India on the last working day. The members of the bar express their farewell on the last working day before the ceremonial bench.
Tomorrow, CJI Lalit will share the bench with CJI-designate Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Bela M. Trivedi.
A notice issued by the Supreme Court's computer cell stated as follows :
Please take notice that on the eve of laying down the office of the Hon'ble Chief Justice of India, the proceedings of the Hon'ble Chief Justice' Court i.e., Ceremonial Bench on November 7, 2022, 10:30 A.M. onwards shall be livestreamed on the Surpeme Court's websit."
