The Central Government has approved the appointment of former Chief Justice of Manipur High Court, Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar as the president of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for a period of five years.

Justice Sudhakar has been appointed for a period of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or till you attain the age of 67 years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

In an offer letter issued to him from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, Justice Sudhakar has been requested to join the post of President, NCLT within two weeks from the date of issue of the letter (October 29).

About Justice Sudhakar 

Justice Sudhakar is a former Chief Justice of Manipur High Court and also a former Acting Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court and Judge of Jammu and Kashmir High Court and Madras High Court.

He was Elevated as Chief Justice of Manipur High Court on 18 May 2018 and he retired in February this year.
