The results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2023 are published.
The results are now available for students to access on their respective login IDs, said Professor Sudhir Krishnaswamy, the Vice Chancellor of National Law School of India University in a virtual press conference. The counselling dates will be announced shortly. The next academic year for NLSIU will begin by July 1, 2023.
Results of the CLAT 2023 can be accessed here: https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2023/
The highest mark secured in CLAT 2023 UG is 116.75 out of a total of 150. One question was withdrawn in the Final Answer Key and hence, the total number of questions is 149.
The highest mark secured in CLAT 2023 PG is 95.25 out of a total of is 120.
The cut-off marks are determined through the counseling process and the number of seats available, VC Krishnaswamy informed while adding that the counseling dates are yet to be confirmed. However, it will be shortly informed via the CLAT Consortium website.
"There's no pass or fail rate, the eligibility is based on cut-offs. The cut-off has not begun. The counseling dates are yet to be confirmed. We don't have a complete fixity on that but we should be able to share it on the website shortly", VC Krishnaswamy said during the press conference.
The minimum eligibility criteria to apply to an NLU is 50% in the Board exams, he added. "The number of seats available for the next academic year is conditional on each University's admission matrix. I can speak for the NLSIU, it's 240."
22 National Law Universities and 61 affiliated non-national universities will use CLAT 2023 scores for admissions to five-year integrated UG and PG law programs commencing in the Academic Year 2023-2024.
VC Krishnaswamy, however, refused to give details on the total number of candidates who appeared for the CLAT 2023 exam.
"The number of students who took the exam will be revealed later...That is the common practice."
"The decision to move the exam to December was based on the clutter of exams. Students now can focus on their Board exams and all that, at the end of their graduating year from High School. And now students will have some assurance that there is no clash of dates", Krishnaswamy said on the reasons for the CLAT exam being pushed to December.
It was further appprised that the CLAT Consortium has a phased plan of increasing the EWS Quota from 8% this year to 10% next year.
The notification issued by the CLAT Consortium states that the attendance percentage for CLAT 2023 was 94.87% - 56% are females, 44% are males and two candidates are transgenders.
