Ponda : In a matter which is so simple, why give opportunity to other side to unnecessarily prolong the detention. Every second's delay is illegal.

Ponda : The Magistrate did not give me a date for my bail application. So I withdrew my bail application at 1.30 PM today.

Ponda : If I can prima facie satisfy this court, the ends of justice require that I should be released on interim bail. The Constitutional court must come to the rescue of a citizen who has been treated unfairly.

Justice Shinde : We are making ourselves clear that we are ready to examine in depth. At the same time, we have to give opportunity to respondents to contest.
