The Supreme Court has issued notification for Advocate on Record Examination. It has been notified the examination will be conducted in the Supreme Court premises on the 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd December of 2022. The Notification also stated that the last date for receipt of Application before the Secretary, Board of Examiners, is 1st November, 2022 and no application shall be accepted after that. It has also been notified that the acceptance of application is subject to production of requisite certificate of training from Advocates-on-Record under Regulation 6.
The notification states that, "All the advocates who have completed their training for a continuous period of one year commencing from the end of the fourth year of date of their enrolment ending with the 30th November, 2022, or would complete their training before the commencement of the said examination, shall be eligible to appear for the aforesaid examination." It was also notified that a candidate shall not be allowed more than five chances and appearance even in anyone paper shall be deemed to be a chance.
The Notification also states that, "Under Regulation 12 of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination, no application/representation for re-evaluation of answer sheets shall be entertained. Application/representation seeking relief other than in the nature of re-evaluation shall not be entertained beyond a period of 30 days from the date of declaration of the result."
The notification also pointed out that if any person given a roll number absents himself in individual examination paper(s) shall be dealt as not sufficiently prepared and dealt with under Regulation 5(b) and shall not be permitted to sit for further examination in 2022 except for good reason and with the permission of Chairman of Board of Examiners. It was also stated that if a person fails in all the papers shall not be allowed to appear in next examination as per Regulation 11, and if a person does not appear in appear in all the papers and fails in the ones they appear shall be treated as failed in all papers.
The notification is annexed with the syllabus for the examination, Instruction/Guidelines for submission of Application Form Online, List of Leading Cases and An Application Form. Application forms shall also be available for collection from the office of Secretary, Board of Examiners on any working day during working hours.
