The third weekend (17th, 18th and 19th February) of February was buzzing with energy, enthusiasm and passion at Symbiosis Law School, Noida.
“SymFiesta 2017: For the Wanderlust in Heart” – It was about three days, three nights , twenty seven events and countless memories- a journey around the world in 72 hours packed with excitement, thrill, perfection and immense satisfaction, with students participating from over 60 colleges pan India.
SymFiesta’17 was powered by Tittle Sponsor- Sanskriti Avass and Co-Tittle Sponsor- Teemac, Associate Sponsors- Sadgamaya, Khaitan, Legal Associates and Gift Partner- MyLaw.net.
The event hosted over 4,000 persons participating in more than twenty-five competitions and the three dazzling nights. SymFiesta’17 hosted five flagship events- Fashion Show (SymVogue), Group Dance (Anukriti), K.T.S. Tulsi Mock Trial, Battle of Bands (Armageddon) and Parliamentary Debate (Confero). Over 20 other cultural, literary, legal and miscellaneous events were organised, with prizes worth Rs. 20 lakhs awarded to the winners. The three nights witnessed sensational performances by 5 renowned bands, 3 DJs, and 2 stand-up comedians.
The inaugural day, February 17, had an unbeatable line up of the bands for Battle of Bands (Armageddon) followed by performances by famed bands like the Praarambh- The Story Begins, Indie Trigg, Apricot and Error. Solo Singing (Symphony), Shuttermania (Photography Competition), Client Counselling, Judgement Writing and Parliamentary Debate (Confero) gave a cultural flare and intellectual touch to the first day of the fest. The prelims and semis of Client Counseling were judged by Mr Sumit Kumar (Partner, JP Legal), Ms Pallavi Malhotra, Mr Adab Sing Kapoor, Mr Venkatesh Rao (Advocate, Supreme Court of India), Mr Shovan Mishra (AOR), Ms Nidhi Mohan Prashar (Advocate, Supreme Court of India), Mr Kumar Mihir (AOR), and Ms Sanjana Bali (Partner, KB Partners
February 18, marked the second day to the journey for the wanderers taking them through competitions such as Negotiation – judged by Ms Mayuri Raghuvanshi (AOR), Mr Prateek Yadav, Mr Sherbir Panag (Partner, Law Offices of Panag & Babu, Ms Jayashree Parihar (Associate, Trilegal), Ms Aavritee Naithani, Mr Saurabh Kumar, Ms Devdatta Mukherjee, Mr Ashutosh Upadhyay (Associate, Anand & Anand), Mr Deepayan Mandal (AOR), Mr Sourish Mohan Mitra, Mr Achint Gyani, Mr Sumeet Singh (Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas), Mr Anupam Sharan (Legal Counsel, American Express), Mr Rajeev Nair (Legal Counsel, HP), Mr Rajiv Kumar Choubey (General Counsel, HCL) and Mr Bhardwaj Jaishankar (Associate Partner, Sim & San) - Quiz Pro Quo, Colossal Gaming, Solo Dance (Nritya) and Group Dance (Anukriti). It was a star studded night with the best DJs in the house - DJ Julia Bliss, DJ Tymur and DJ Sartek.
February 19, was the Final Day of the three day journey. The day kicked off with the final rounds of Negotiations and Client Counselling. The semi-final and final rounds of K.T.S. Tulsi Mock Trial. The Final Round of this event was judged by none other than Mr. K.T.S. Tulsi himself. Other judges of the legal events included Mr Purvish Malkhan (AOR), Mr Ankur Kashyap, Mr Utkarsh Tiwari, Mr Natraajan Swaminathan, Mr Manish Lamba (Legal Counsel, Bharti Realty), Mr Pulin Kumar (Legal Counsel, Adidas), Mr Manoj Kumar, Mr Yogesh Wadhwa (GC, General Motors), Mr Anupam Lal Das (AOR) and Mr Rajiv Arora (Legal Counsel, Airtel). This was followed by the glamorous Fashion Show (SymVogue). The Pro Night was where the two amazing Stand-up comedians from East India Comedy- Sapan Verma and Sahil Shah followed by a soulful and mind blowing performance by Nikhil D'Souza and his band.
The faculty along with an overjoyed Organizing Committee declared 16-17-18 February, 2018 as the official dates for SymFiesta’s next edition.
