Jaising: As per union's status report, 595 FIRs have been registered. How many of these relate to sexual violence, and how many are arson, murder- I agree there is no clarity...Before you reach investigation, this court should have data.
Sibal: The officers have not even informed the AG and SG how many FIRs have been registered! That's the sad state of affairs.
SG: Government of India has no objection if your lordships monitors.

Sibal: One of the women- her father, brother killed. We still don't have the bodies. Zero FIR was registered on 18th May. Only when this court took cognisance, then something happened. So what confidence do we have?
Sibal: The police took them towards the crowd. First they stated that there was no ignition and then they abandoned them with the crowd. And they did what they did.
Sibal: It is clear from the facts that the police were collaborating with those who perpetuated the violence. The affidavits, statements under 161 suggest that while they sought for police to take them away from the crowd...
