Centre directed to formulate National Policy for proper rehabilitation of rape survivors
The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Centre to formulate a national policy for proper rehabilitation of rape survivors, opining that setting up of a separate fund like the Rs 2,000 crore ‘Nirbhaya fund’ was not enough and amounted to “just a lip service”.
Italian Marines Case
The Supreme Court on Monday reportedly agreed to hear the Bail Petition of Sergeant Major Salvatore Girone, one of the two Italian Marines accused of murdering Indian fishermen off the coast of Kerala in 2012. The Apex Court is scheduled to hear the case on May 26, the Italian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
