Senior Advocate Rakesh Kumar Khanna has been elected as the new President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), pursuant to elections for the SCBA’s Executive Committee.

The other six candidates competing for the post were: Senior Advocates Adish Aggarwala, Vikas Singh, V Shekhar, and Ajit Kumar Sinha, and Advocates PK Jain and Ajay Mandyal.

The elections were held in the Supreme Court campus today, with the Election Committee comprising Senior Advocate Shekhar Naphade as its Chairman and Senior Advocates CU Singh and Amarendra Sharan as the two members.

The final tally was:



  • Khanna: 453

  • Singh: 390

  • Aggarwala: 375

  • Sinha: 229

  • Shekhar: 118

  • Jain: 49

  • Mandyal: 05
