The Supreme Court Bar Association and the Apex Court have together chalked out a plan for dealing with the issue of delayed uploading of Cause Lists.

A circular issued by the Supreme Court explains:



  1. The Daily Cause Lists containing the regular hearing matters and miscellaneous matters, if any, to be listed on all the three regular hearing days viz. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be released and uploaded on the website of this Hon’ble Court on the Friday/ Saturday of the previous week.

  2. A Supplementary List will be issued in the evening of Tuesday and Wednesday for listing on Wednesday and Thursday respectively including the left over regular hearing matters and specifically directed miscellaneous and regular hearing matters.

  3. The practice of issuing Supplementary Lists, if any, on Saturday, Monday and Thursday for the matters to be listed on Monday, Tuesday and Friday respectively will continue.


A release by SCBA Secretary Mr. Gaurav Bhatia said that the schedule was proposed to the Registry on Wednesday, and was approved by Chief Justice of India J.S. Khehar soon after.

The release applauded the effort, and said that the arrangement will ensure that lawyers get sufficient time to prepare for their matters.
