The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the appointment of two lawyers as judges of Calcutta High Court.

The Collegium comprising Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justice MB Lokur and Justice Kurian Joseph recommended elevation of the following lawyers:

Aniruddha Roy
Saugata Bhattacharyya

It further recommended the elevation of Judicial Officer Suvra Ghosh as a judge of the high court.

The proposal pertaining to elevation of another Judicial Officer, Mr. Rabindranath Samanta was deferred for being taken up for consideration by the Collegium after some time.
