A Central notification issued on Thursday appointed former Principal Sessions Judge of Chennai, Judge N. Authinathan as Additional Judge of Madras High Court.
Judge Authinathan had retired from service on January 19 this year, and would have about one and a half years of the service in the Higher Judiciary. He is a native of Thoothukudi district and entered the judicial service in 1988 as a Magistrate.
The Judge was promoted to District Judge cum Chief Judicial Magistrate in Udhagamandalam. Before he was transferred to Chennai, he was serving as Principal District Judge in Coimbatore District. His name was pending consideration for elevation since 2015.
