The second convocation of National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, was held recently at the university campus situated in Kanke, Ranchi.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Her Excellency, the Governor of Jharkhand, Smt. Droupadi Murmu and Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court Justice Aniruddha Bose, who is also the Chancellor of the University. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, the member of the Executive Council of the university, was the Special Guest of Honour on this occasion.
Padamshree Prof. Dr. NR Madhava Menon delivered the convocation address. The function, held on December 1, was graced by the presence of Honorable judges of the Jharkhand High Court, Hon’ble Mr. Justice HC Mishra, Hon’ble Mr. Justice B. B Mangalmurti, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Kumar, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ratnakar Bhengra, The Lokayukta of the state of Jharkhand Hon’ble Justice DN Upadhyay, MLA Kanke Dr. Jitu Charan Ram, MLA Mandar, Smt Gangotri Kujur, MLA Bokaro, Shri Biranchi Narayan. Vice-Chancellor (I/c) of NUSRL, Mr. Gautam Kumar Choudhary, former Vice Chancellor of the university Prof AK Koul, Vice Chancellor and PVC of Ranchi University, Vice Chancellor of Birsa Agricultural University, Prof. Dr. Mrinal Satish from NLU Delhi, Prof Dr. Padmavati from NLSIU Bangalore were also present on this occasion. Secretaries of different departments of the government along with the senior officers of Jharkhand High Court and Jharkhand Judicial Academy were also present on this occasion.
Gautam Kumar Choudhary delivered the welcome address and presented the report. The Chief Justice formally opened the convocation. The degrees were then conferred upon the graduates and postgraduate students of the batches 2016, 2017 and 2018. A total of 322 degrees were awarded on this occasion, out of which 280 degrees for BA.LL.B. and 42 degrees for the LL.M course were awarded. A total of 86 gold medals were also awarded. The keynote address was delivered by the Chancellor and the Presidential address by the Governor of Jharkhand.
