The National Law Institute University-Legal Aid Clinic (NLIU-LAC), headed by Prof. Dr. Kavita Singh, in collaboration with People United for Law, Education and Rehabilitation (P.U.L.E.R), headed by Prof. Dr. Birpal Singh and Diabetes India Youth in Action Foundation (DIYA) organised a free of cost medical camp at Primary Government School, Mendora, Kerwa Dam Road in Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
The camp was conducted by Dr Anil Gomber (general physician), Dr Dimpy Gomber (Gynaecologist), Dr Soham Bagchi (Dermatologist), and Dr Apoorva Gomber (Pathologist).
Dr Apoorva Gomber and her team of doctors from DIYA Foundation also gave free blood sugar check-ups to the attendees. DIYA Foundation is working towards spreading awareness about diabetes, especially Type 1 diabetes, and seeks to provide access to health care to patients of the same.
More than a hundred patients from Mendora village and other nearby villages turned up. P.U.L.E.R also distributed sanitary pads at the camp to raise awareness of women’s menstrual hygiene.
DARPAN, the drama society of NLIU Bhopal, presented a street play to make residents of the village aware of free legal services being provided by the University’s Legal Aid Clinic. Clothes were also donated to villagers at the camp.
