Another private complaint has been filed before a court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Bihar's Muzaffarpur against Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for his alleged remark that if Sanatana (Dharma) is destroyed, untouchability will also be destroyed.

The Complaint has been filed by a lawyer named Sudhir Kumar Ojha stating that Stalin made the said statement for the purpose of spreading enmity in society for political gains and for the purpose of appeasing the people of some other religions.

Hence, the complaint prays for legal action against Udhay Stalin and his father MK Stalin under Sections 500, 504, 295, 295A, 298, 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code.

It may be noted that this is the second complaint against Stalin before the Muzaffarpur Court in a time span of 20 days. Earlier, a complaint was filed for Stalin’s alleged 'Ablish Santana Dharma, it is like Dengue-Malaria, CORONA’ remarks.

As per media reports, Udhayanidhi, the Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs in the Tamil Nadu government, in response to a comment of the Tamil Nadu Governor about social discrimination in the state, had said Sanatana Dharma should be abolished only to abolish untouchability. I believe that if Sanatana is destroyed, untouchability will also be destroyed.

In related news, the Madras High Court today granted an interim injunction in favour of Edappadi Palaniswami, General Secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) thus restraining Stalin from making defamatory statements against the former.

Justice RN Manjula observed that both Palaniswami and Udhayanidhi Stalin were political figures who were in the habit of making statements against each other but when statements were made against persons, which could affect their integrity, a suit for damages was maintainable.

"Plaintiff (Palaniswami) and Defendant (Udayanidhi Stalin) are political figures and they used to make statements against each other in their political life. While something is made in that course, affecting the integrity of the persons, a suit can be filed for damages. This appears to be one such suit," the court said.
