The Central Government has issued a notification appointing Justices Abdul Rahim Musaliar Badharudeen, Viju Abraham, and Mohammed Nias Chovvakkaran Puthiyapurayil, as permanent Judges of the Kerala High Court.
Justice A. Badharudeen, Justice Viju Abraham, and Justice Mohammed Nias were additional judges earlier.
The Supreme Court collegium on December 9, 2022, had approved the proposal for their appointment as Permanent Judges of the Kerala High Court.
As per the notification that was issued today, it has been stated that, the President of India, in exercise of his power under Article 217 (1), has appointed the three Judges to be permanent Judges with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
Justice Badharudeen was appointed as an additional judge on June 23, 2021. Justice Abraham and Justice Nias were appointed on August 11, 2021, and took charge on August 13, 2021.
As per the provisions under the Constitution of India, the following Additional Judges of Kerala High Court are appointed as Judges of the same High Court.
