In a shocking development, the Additional District Judge-cum-Special Judge (POCSO), Cuttack Mr. Subash Kumar Behari found dead in his official residence at CDA's Sector-9, Cuttack on Friday. The Judge was on leave for the last two days and was to join back in his duty on Friday. Reportedly, he did not join the Court, rather sought for extension of his leave.

Subsequently, he was found hanging in his residence, after which he was taken to a private hospital in Cuttack. However, the doctor declared him 'brought dead'. The police suspected that he has committed suicide.

The Judge, who hails from Jajpur district of Odisha, was staying with his wife and two daughters at Cuttack. He had joined in the present post on 6th April 2021.

Today, his mother and other family members have alleged that he has not committed suicide, rather he was murdered. They have also levelled allegations against the Judge's wife and his in-laws and suspected a foul play in his death.

The Bar Association of Cuttack passed a resolution abstaining from Court works on Saturday due to the untimely demise of the Judge.
