Justice Ashis Kumar Chakraborty, a sitting Judge of Calcutta High Court, passed away today due to cardiac arrest.

The 55 years old Judge was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on 22nd October 2014. He was appointed as Permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court on 06th October 2016.

Born on December 12, 1965, Justice Ashis Kumar Chakraborty Graduated in Law from the University of Calcutta in November, 1992.

He was enrolled as an Advocate on January 29, 1993 and he practised mainly in the High Court at Calcutta as well as the Supreme Court of India in Civil, Company, Arbitration and Consitutional Matters
