SCBA President Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave Contributes One Crore To COVID Relief Funds

Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave has contributed Rs. 1 Crore towards relief measures in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Donating Rs. 50 lakh each to the PM CARES Fund and to the Delhi CM Relief Fund, the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President is the latest from the legal fraternity to make generous financial contributions towards relief measures.

The Judiciary was seen leading the way with its support as all 33 sitting Supreme Court Judges pledged Rs. 50,000 each to the Prime Minister's relief fund. Before that, the second most senior judge in the Top Court, Justice NV Ramana had also contributed Rs. 3 lakh, evenly distributed between the PM's National Relief Fund and the CM's Funds of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. His contribution also came with a message urging everyone to stay indoors and abide by what government officials advise.

Judges of the Delhi High Court have also collectively contributed in excess of Rs. 10 lakh to the PM CARES Fund.

In addition to Judges and lawyers, the officials and staff of the Supreme Court also got together and contributed more than Rs. 1 Crore to the PM CARES Fund en masse.

Recently, Senior advocate Rakesh Dwivedi also contributed Rs. 1 Crore towards the PM Cares Fund. Senior advocates AS Chandiok and N Hariharan were the first to answer the Bar Council of Delhi's appeal to help advocates in need during tough times, with a donation of Rs. 5 lakh each.

While Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad pledged his one months' salary towards the Relief Fund set up in the name of the Prime Minister, senior advocates cum politicians like Vivek Tankha and P Wilson were also seen making contributions towards relief activities.
