The Supreme Court Collegium on Wednesday considered the candidature of four Advocates for elevation to the Delhi High Court.
As per the resolution, names of two Advocates—Krishnendu Datta and Saurabh Kirpal—were deferred. The Collegium comprising Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices AK Sikri and SA Bobde resolved to consider their candidature after two-three weeks.
However, the proposal for elevation of Advocates Priya Kumar and Sanjay Ghose was remitted to the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
The proposal concerning the four Advocates was put forth by the Collegium of the Delhi High Court in October 2017, and was considered by the Supreme Court Collegium in September last year, when it had decided to defer the consideration of the proposal.
