The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 17th January 2023 has recommended the elevation of five advocates and three judicial officers as Judges in the Madras High Court. The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 17th January 2023 has recommended the elevation of five advocates and three judicial officers as Judges in the Madras High Court. 

The advocates recommended by the Collegium are:

1. Shri Venkatachari Lakshminarayanan

2. Mrs. Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri

3. Shri Pillaipakkam Bahukutumbi Balaji

4. Shri Ramaswamy Neelakandan, and 

5. Shri Kandhasami Kulandaivelu Ramakrishnan

The judicial officers recommended by the Collegium are:

1. Shri Periyasamy Vadamalai

2. Mrs. Ramachandran Kalaimathi, and

3. Mrs. K. Govindarajan Thilakavadi
