The President of India has appointed Kerala High Court Judge Justice P.R. Ramachandra Menon as Chief Justice Of Chhattisgarh High Court.

On April, 8 the Supreme Court Collegium has recompensed the Government to appoint him as Chief Justice.  

"Office of the Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court has fallen vacant recently, consequent upon resignation of Mr. Justice A.K. Tripathi, Chief Justice of that High Court. Therefore, appointment to that office is required to be made.

Mr. Justice P.R. Ramachandra Menon is the senior-most Judge from Kerala High Court and has been functioning there since his elevation as Judge of that High Court. Having regard to all relevant factors, the Collegium finds Mr. Justice P.R. Ramachandra Menon suitable in all respects for being appointed as Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court.The Collegium resolves to recommend accordingly.

While making the above recommendation, the Collegium is conscious of the fact that consequent upon the proposed appointment, there will be two Chief Justices from Kerala High Court", states the Collegium resolution.
