Rajasthan HC To Continue Hearing Extremely Urgent Matters Via Videoconferencing Mode Till October 23

In view of the ongoing pandemic situation, the Rajasthan High Court has released a circular today stating that an earlier Notification dated September 19 for effective control and containment over spread of Coronavirus shall continue to remain in force till October 23. This means that functioning of Rajasthan High Court shall be restricted only to cases involving extreme urgency which will be taken up only through video conferencing.
In this context, the High Court has released a list of Next Dates of Hearing for those matters already listed till October 23.
It is further clarified that all matters where interim orders are lapsing, "they shall be deemed to have been extended till the matter is taken up by the regular court".
Furthermore, another Circular states that in light of suggestions which were solicited from all the District & Sessions Judges for functioning of Subordinate Courts/Special Courts/ Tribunals in respective Judgeship, Limited number of courts may continue to function through Video Conferencing for extremely urgent matters as directed as directed on September 19.
"In view of diverse situations prevailing in various Judgeship of the State, the District & Sessions Judges are directed to adopt any of the above mode for functioning of Subordinate Courts/Special Courts/Tribunals of from 05.10.2020 to 16.10.2020 including limiting the court working hours and staff strength, as per local requirement"
It is further suggested that all Courts may start functioning through physical appearance for all types of cases except for recording of evidence and in judicial custody matters, evidence may also be recorded through video conferencing.
Undersigned by the Registrar, the Circular stipulates that the Committee of one Judicial Officer, Bar President and one senior court staff constituted earlier shall continue to supervise and monitor the situation on daily basis to ensure strict compliance of these directions and to take appropriate remedial steps.
