The National Investigation Agency has filed charge-sheet against 19 accused in the Pulwama Terror Attack Case, before the NIA Special Court at Jammu.
As per a press release issued by the NIA, "The investigation has revealed that Pulwama attack was a result of well-planned criminal conspiracy hatched by Pakistan-based leadership of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad."
The chargesheet, running over 13,000 pages, names Mohammad Umar Farooq as the main accused, who is accused of infiltrating into India through international Border at Jammu-Samba Sector in 2018, to execute the attack. Three other men have been named as Farooq's "Pakistani Compatriots".
Inter alia, three persons have been booked for providing logistics and harbouring the JeM terrorists in their houses in Kashmir.
The chargesheet has been filed u/s 120-B, 121, 121-A, 122, 123, 307, 302 of the RPC, sections 7, 25, 27 of Arms Act, sections 3, 4, 5 & 6 of the Explosive Substances Act, sections 16, 17, 18, 18A, 18B, 19, 20, 21, 38 & 39 of the UA (P) Act, section 14C of Foreigners Act and section 4 of Jammu and Kashmir Public Property (Prevention of Damages) Act, 1985.
Over 40 CRPF personnel were martyred and eight injured in February last year in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir when a Jaish suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 200 kg of high grade explosives into their convoy in Pulwama district.
