Prof (Dr) KC Sunny has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, following the retirement of Prof (Dr) Rose Varghese.
Dr. Sunny is currently serving as the Professor and the Head of the Department of Law and Dean School Legal Studies of Central University of Kerala. He will be taking charge as the VC next week.
He is a graduate in both Physics and Law. He has also done his post-graduation in Administrative Law, having secured a Gold Medal for the same. He went on to secure a UGC Fellowship for his PhD research in the field of Election law at the Kerala University. He obtained his PhD in 1994 on the topic, "Corrupt Practices in Election Law".
Dr. Sunny later joined the Central University of Kerala in May, 2017, and has a total of 26 years of teaching experience.
He now wishes to help NUALS explore the possibility of having academic and research collaborations with various universities and institutions around the world.
"My priority will be to launch exchange programmes, where NUALS students would be able to pursue a semester abroad as part of the collaboration. We could also receive students from international universities to take up a semester here," he told The Hindu.
