President Ram Nath Kovind has accepted the resignation of Senior Advocate Aman Lekhi from the position of Additional Solicitor General of India for the Supreme Court.

The notification to the above effect, issued by the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, says:

"The President is pleased to accept the resignation of Shri Aman Lekhi, Senior Advocate from the position of Additional Solicitor General of India for the Supreme Court of India with effect from the date of his resignation i.e., 04.03.2022."

On March 4, 2022, Senior Advocate Aman Lekhi resigned from the post of Additional Solicitor General of India with immediate effect.

"I am tendering my resignation from the post of Additional Solicitor General of India at the Hon'ble Supreme Court with immediate effect", said Mr.Lekhi in a letter addressed to Union Minister for Law & Justice Mr.Kiren Rijiju on March 4.

Aman Lekhi Resigns As Additional Solicitor General Of India

He was appointed as the ASG on 05.03.2018 and was re-appointed with effect from 01.07.2020 for a period of three years till 30.06.2023.

As the ASG, Mr.Lekhi has appeared in many important matters before the Supreme Court and various High Courts.
