Poovayya now taking the court through the notification electronically.
Poovayya: Deadline for registering is today. So more students may register. We owe an obligation to them that the exam in conducted on Saturday.
Poovayya: We have made arrangements for students who reached out to us regarding inaccessibility of internet access with
@IDIALaw
.
If we don't start the year, we will have a zero year. We have 30298 students ready to write the examination.
Poovayya: Initially 1mbps net connectivity put forth. But we were told that this should be brought down and we did, we brought it down to 512 mbps.
Justice Shankar asks Poovayya: I just want to know if there are any problems that the students may face problems while taking online exams?
Gautam: I had put in a representation that in case I am not able to take the exam due to lack technical equipment or know-how, then what do I do. NLS replied that it was not responsible for internet issues that occurred in the test centres which have been set up
Gautam: Notification is in blatant disregard of a Supreme Court order on CLAT exam.
Justice Shankar: But those are procedural issues. The argument then can be that this was not worth even listing and thats why was not taken up by a particular HC.
Justice Shankar: Maintaining the judicial decorum and keeping in mind the possibility of multiplicity of proceedings is important.
Adv. Gautam: What if the case is not listed in the other HC'S?
Adv. Gautam: This is the first writ petition which has been filed in this regard.
Justice Shankar: But that does not satisfy my question. You chose to come here and appear before the Jharkhand HC.
