The Full Court of the Orissa High Court has resolved to suspend the ensuing Summer Vacation 2020 of the High Court as well as the Subordinate courts, if the Lockdown is not extended beyond 3rd May, 2020.

"In the Full Court, after due consultation with the Advocate General, the President, the Vice-President, and the Secretary of the Orissa High Court Bar Association, it is resolved to suspend the ensuing Summer Vacation 2020 of the Orissa High Court and also of Subordinate courts, if the Lockdown is not extended beyond 3rd May, 2020".

The decision was taken after due consultation with the Advocate General, the President, the Vice-President, and the Secretary of the Orissa High Court Bar Association.

A notification instructing the same to all the Subordinate Courts was issued today stating,

"In view of exigencies caused by COVID-19 and declaration of Lockdown in the State of Odisha the Hon'ble High Court have been pleased to suspend the ensuing Summer Vacation, 2020 of the Sub-ordinate Courts of the State, if the Lockdown is not extended beyond 3rd May, 2020."

The Summer Vacation of the Orissa High Court was scheduled for May 18 till June 16.

The decision is in suit with the High Courts of Bombay, Madras, Karnataka, Delhi and Telangana.
