The Central Government has revealed that it does not have data on the number of doctors, medical staff and the Police personnel who died due to COVID-19 across the country.
MP from the Samajwadi Party Ravi Prakash Verma had raised an unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha seeking details of the number of persons including doctors and medical staff died due to Covid-19 in India.
Responding to the same Minister of State in the Health Ministry, AK Choubey, said,
"Such data is not maintained at Central level by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. However, database of those seeking relief under the "Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Insurance Package" is maintained at national level."
Similarly, in Lok Sabha, AITC MP Prasun Banerjee had asked the Government about the number of police personnel who died due to COVID-19. Responding to this Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, said,
"The data in respect of Police personnel who died due to COVID-19 across the country is not maintained centrally."
Earlier, the Government had revealed that it has not maintained data on umber of migrant workers lost lives during their return to the hometowns during the Covid induced Lockdown.

Non-maintenance of such data indicates that the bereaved families of Covid warriors and migrants have not directly received any compensation/ rehabilitation from the Central Government.
