National Green Tribunal has sought report from South Delhi Deputy Commissioner and Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPC) against illegal slaughter Houses and meat shops at Block-B, Ward No. 20 S Uttam Nagar, Delhi opposite Police Station, creating nuisance in the area.
Bench of Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and Satyawan Singh Garbyal was hearing an application treated as an application on basis of a complaint received via post by Bharat Batra, Division Minister, Indraprastha Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
The Bench has directed the aforementioned authorities to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law and furnish a joint factual and action taken report in the matter within a period of two months by email at ngt.filing@gmail.com and directed a copy of order, along with complaint, to be sent to the authorities for compliance.
Pertinently, order of NGT is binding as a decree of Court and non-compliance is actionable by way of punitive action including prosecution, in terms of National Green Tribunal Act, 2010.
Matter has been listed for further hearing on 7th of August, 2019.
