Underscoring that India believes in Sarva dharma sama bhava, [All religions are the same or All paths lead to the same destination], the Chairperson of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Justice Arun Mishra today said that it has become a new norm to accuse India of human rights violations at the behest of external forces.

"The social activism institutions & Human Rights Defenders should strongly condemn terrorism & political violence. (Their) apathy towards this gives rise to fundamentalism. History will never forget us for this. Time has come to raise a voice against violence. It has become a new norm to accuse India of human rights violations at the behest of external forces. It is necessary to strongly oppose the efforts being made to annihilate traditions and languages," said Justice Mishra while delivering the 28th National Human Rights Commission foundation day programme address.

Chairperson of NHRC, Justice Arun Mishra began his address as he thanked PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah (Justices Abdul Nazeer, Indira Banerjee, Hrishikesh Roy, and others who remained present during the event. 

He said that he felt proud to welcome very popular and diligent, Respected PM Modi here during the event.

"Today India has surfaced as a world power and has got its new identity, the credit of this goes to Citizens, the Country's leadership, and constitutional mechanism," observed Justice Arun Mishra.

Welcoming, Home Minister Amit Shah, Justice Mishra said that due to your efforts, a new era of 'peace and law and order' has now begun in Jammu & Kashmir and in the North-Eastern part of the Country.

He Further observed that India is a forerunner in the matter of protection of Human rights as it has implemented many such schemes which are for the welfare of the CITIZENS of the COUNTRY.

He said that Violence due to political reasons around the world led to the killing of 12 Crore people in the 20th Century and that this is unfortunate that Political violence has still not ended.

"We cant glorify people who kill innocent people. Our Democratic system resolves disputes in a peaceful and legally sound manner," Justice Mishra underscored.

He stressed that the cost of litigation is out of reach of people and even today, Speedy justice is a dream. He advocated for long-term solutions in this regard.

Regarding, Police Investigation system, he observed thus:

"(It) needs to be made more effective and free, it should be such, wherein CBI probe is not needed at all. In the garb of Instant Justice, Fake Encounters by Police is Unconstitutional and a condemnable act. We will have to make efforts to get rid of this brutality."
