In view of an absolute lockdown imposed by the Central government, the Full Court of the Andhra Pradesh High Court has suspended all court work at the high court as well as all courts subordinate to it, till April 14.

However it has been clarified that the counsels may approach the Registrar (Judicial) telephonically or via email, in case of any urgent matter.

With regards the matters relating to grant of bail, remand, solvency, etc. in subordinate courts, the same may be conducted by a Judicial Magistrate (Class I), from their home offices.

The notification issue in this behalf by the Registrar General states,

"The Court sittings of High Court of the Andhra Pradesh and all the Subordinate Courts and Tribunals under the Control of the High Court in the State of Andhra Pradesh, A.P. State Legal Services Authority, Mediation and Arbitration Centre and High Court Legal Services Committee already notified shall stand cancelled with immediate effect.

The Judicial and Administrative work in the High Court shall stand suspended up to 14.04.2020. However, imminently urgent cases in the High Court will be heard by the bench/es constituted for the purpose only with the prior approval of the Hon'ble the Chief Justice. Learned Advocates/Party-in-person shall contact the Registrar (Judicial) telephonically or his official email id regjudaphcnic.in

So far as all the Subordinate Courts and Tribunals under the Control of the High Court in the State of Andhra Pradesh are concerned, Judicial and Administrative work in the Courts also shall stand suspended with immediate effect up to 14.04.2020.

The receiving of F.I.Rs, grant of Judicial remand, bails, accepting of solvencies, dying declarations and etc., performed by Judicial Magistrates of I Class shall be done from their home offices. Any clarifications in this regard may be obtained from the respective Principal District Judges.

The Member Secretary, A.P. State Legal Services Authority shall give necessary instructions to the District Legal Services Authorities in promoting awareness with regard to spreading of COVID — 19 virus in terms of guidelines issued by the Government of India.

All the Judicial Officers and Staff Members shall be deemed to be on duty and work from home and they shall make themselves available as and when required and keep their mobile phone in switch on mode and shall not leave headquarters during the aforesaid period without permission. In case of urgency, they shall report duty as and when directed."
