Maharashtra National Law University Aurangabad (MNLU Aurangabad) has taken a significant step towards promoting inclusivity by rolling out a new menstrual leave policy. The Executive Council of the university has approved (in-principle) this initiative proposed by The Executive Council of the Student Bar Council.

The menstrual leave policy, a student-led initiative, aims to achieve gender justice within the university. Under this policy, students are permitted to avail of one menstrual leave per month, which is equivalent to medical leave. Importantly, no medical certificate is required for this leave. However, students must meet the minimum attendance criteria of 67% as prescribed by the regulation.

To avail of the menstrual leave, students need to fill out the Menstrual Leave Application provided under the policy. This step marks a significant move towards inclusivity and addressing the specific needs of students within the university community.
