The Madras High Court bench of Justice R Subramanian on Tuesday directed the National Testing Agency to produce the original OMR sheet of a candidate after she approached the court alleging that she was given another candidate's answer sheet after correction.
The petitioner, KS Bhavamirthne, who had appeared for the NEET (UG) 2022 Examination conducted by CBSE for admission into the medical course, claimed that the copy of OMR sheet that was handed over to her after publication of result was not the one filled by her during the examination.
The petitioner submitted that out of the 180 questions that were there in the paper, she had left out only 13 questions. However, in the paper that was returned to her, 60 questions were left out. She also submitted a detailed breakup on the questions left out in both the OMR sheets. The petitioner also submitted that the veracity of the allegations can also be understood if the thumb impressions in both the OMR sheets were to be compared.
The petitioners also informed that since she was confident about the mismatch in the OMR sheet, she emailed the National Testing Agency informing them about the issue. But it was not delivered. Further, the agency does not have any mechanism to address the issue or solve the grievance.
