The Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority recently held an Online Mediation Programme in eight districts, to encourage alternate dispute mechanism.
The programme extending to participants of Muslim Communities in the districts of Jabalpur, Anuppur, Shahdol, Mandleshwar, Dewas, Badwani, Raisen and Neemuch, commenced from January 6, 2021 and concluded on Monday, January 18, 2021.

The training was imparted by trainers from MPSLSA and the topics of the programme included psychology of conflict, negotiation, bargaining, overcoming impasse and drafting of agreements etc.
"Mediation is a very important alternate dispute resolution mechanism earlier confined to the offices of the Legal Services Institutions will now be accessible at the level of the community through volunteers trained to resolve disputes within the society and thereby settle the conflicts at grass root level.
The confidentiality of the mediation process offers avoidance of hostility, restoration of trust between people and with procedural flexibility offers parties to arrive at win-win formula," a press note issued by the Authority stated.
Further, it has assured that these Community Mediation Programmes shall be implemented by the District Legal Services Authority and MPSLSA will provide trainers.
