The Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy, Jabalpur is organising a two-day training programme at 50 district headquarters of Madhya Pradesh for newly enrolled advocates having less than five years of practice.
Touted as the first programme of this kind ever to be held in India, the Programme will witness multiple sessions across two days over the year.
Justice Ravi Malimath, Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, e-Inaugurated the event.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Justice Sheel Nagu, Administrative Judge, Justice Sujoy Paul, Chairman, Governing Council of Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy and other dignitaries.
The Programme has several Supreme Court and High Court Judges (former and present), faculties of the Academy Judges of the District Judiciary, Advocates and subject experts as Resource Persons.
The Programme's vision is to "provide an organized training to the newly enrolled advocates, which is otherwise not available. It is said that a good Bar makes path for a better Bench, the twin objectives for organizing the training for Advocates is to motivate them to join the Bench and to equip and update them on the current legal development."
This programme is not a one time event, two to three programmes may be organized during the year, each of two days duration.
The participant Advocates may be imparted training on the various law subjects including their role in dispensation of justice, pleading, drafting etc., art and craft of cross-examination and other allied subjects. The training course and modules may also be in consonance with the recent trends in law, judicial pronouncements, importance of legal services, scientific evidence in investigation, sensitivity towards women, children and marginalized section of society, legal research etc.
