Mukhtar Ansari's Aide Sanjeev 'Jeeva' Shot Dead By Unidentified Assailants Inside Lucknow Court Premises

Alleged gangster Sanjeev Maheshwari 'Jeeva', a close aide of Mukhtar Ansari was shot dead today by unidentified assailants inside the Lucknow court premises.

The attackers had reportedly come dressed as a lawyer. One of them was caught by the police. A girl and a policeman also got injured in the shootout.

Jeeva's name had surfaced in the murder of senior BJP leaders Brahmadutt Dwivedi and Krishnanand Rai. 

In an official statement, Lucknow Police Commissioner S B Shiradkar said, "Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva who was held in Lucknow jail was brought to the court for hearing in a case and was shot dead by unknown assailant."
