[Last Day To Register] Livelaw Academy's Certificate Course On Privacy And Data Protection In India With Adv. Vrinda Bhandari
10 hours – starting from 16th March 2024, 10.30AM to 12.30PM
Rs. 4499/- Only
We live in an age of big data, where technology has enabled governments and companies to monitor our lives more easily and cheaply. The relationship between the citizen and the State, as well as the citizen and big corporates is increasingly mediated through the use of technology, giving rise to concerns regarding privacy and surveillance, even as India continues to not have a data protection law. This course is thus a foundational introduction to data protection law in India, and to that extent, it serves as a standalone course.
The purpose of this course is to equip the audience to understand the nuances of the privacy and data protection debate in India. It is structured in 5 lectures (2 hours each) looking at privacy, and its relationship/interaction with surveillance, intermediary liability, health, and AI. In addition, the course will focus on the provisions of the PDP Bill 2019.
Who should attend?
- Law students
- Lawyers
- Academicians
- Civilians interested in understanding the nuances of data privacy and rights
