The Kerala Assistant Public Prosecutors Association (KAPPA) will be organizing a symposium on the three 'Newly Enacted Criminal Laws' on January 20, 2024 (Saturday) in Cardinal Parecattil Memorial Renewal Centre, Kaloor at 10 AM.

The laws, viz. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Sanhita are set to replace the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act respectively. The Symposium will discuss the changes brought in by the three new criminal laws.

The event will be inaugurated by the Minister for Law, Industries, and Coir, P Rajeev. Senior Advocate T A Shaji, Director General of Prosecution will be the chief guest of the event. The keynote address will be delivered by the former chairman of the National Judicial Academy, Dr Mohan Gopal.

The event will be presided over by the President of KAPPA and the symposium will be moderated by the Director of Prosecution, Girish Panju M S.
