Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque, Chairman of the Committee in charge of Computerisation of High Court inaugurated e-Sewa Kendra in the Idukki district on May 25, 2024. The inaugural function was held in the new Family Court building at Thodupuzha, Idukki in the presence of Chief Justice A J Desai and Justice C S Dias.
The e-Sewa Kendra extends assistance for the e-filing of cases, to obtain information aboutcase status and copies of judgments and orders.
Thodupuzha has the second largest tribal population in the State living in remote locations with no internet or transportation facilities.
A Mobile e Sewa Kendra would thus enable an inclusive and accessible justice system for the marginalized sections of society, thereby empowering the tribal communities. It would eradicate geographical barriers and enable legal access for advocates and litigants from remote areas. Moreover, it would assist individuals unaccustomed to technology by providing support with e-filing and case status inquiries. This would be a one-stop solution for all legal services by using technology to bridge gaps in legal services.
The key components of the Mobile e-Sewa Kendra are: -
- Vehicle- A Bharat Benz minibus with customised facilities
- Hardware and Network: Laptops or desktops, a printer and internet facility
- Facilities: To facilitate a comfortable environment inside the vehicle, air conditioning, fan, and drinking water facilities are provided.
