The Kerala High Court Chief Justice S. Manikumar's official vehicle was stopped by a person near Goshree Bridge in Kochi around 2 am on Monday, according to media reports.

The reports said that Chief Justice Manikumar was returning from the airport through the Container Road, when the accused person, who has been identified as Tijo, jumped in front of the vehicle and started hurling verbal abuses against the state's senior-most judge.

The Muluvukad police have registered a case against the accused upon a complaint received from the Chief Justice's security staff, namely Antony Perera, and have arrested him.

The complainant alleged that the accused blocked the vehicle of the Chief Justice, by riding his scooter in high speed and in a reckless manner, and wrongfully restrained the Chief Justice from proceeding to his destination. The complainant also alleged that the accused attempted to threaten and create a sense of fear of death.

The police have accordingly, registered a case against the accused under Sections 279, 294 (b), 353, 308, 341, and 506 of the IPC.
