Advocate General of Karnataka Prabhuling K Navadgi on Sunday tendered his resignation to Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot.

Navadgi was appointed as the AG in July 2019. In his tenure he represented the State government in important cases like, Hijab ban, 25 percent reservation for Karnataka students at the National Law School University of India. He defended the Karnataka Police (Amendment) Act 2021, by which the State government had banned online games.

Navadgi graduated in law and obtained his degree at Bangalore, from the University Law College. He stood first in the Bangalore University in the 5 years Law examinations. His father Justice KB Navadgi was a Judge of the Karnataka High Court and served the Indian Judiciary for a period of 27 years.

Navadgi was appointed as the Additional Advocate General for the State of Karnataka in 2011 to represent the State Government. He was designated as Senior Counsel in June 2014. He was appointed as the Additional Solicitor General of India for Karnataka High Court in April 2015.

Additional Advocate General Dhyan Chinnappa and Arun Shyam have also tendered their resignations today.
