Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta of Chhattisgarh High Court on Monday (22nd March) tendered his resignation to the President of India stating that he intends to relinquish his office from 31st March (Wednesday) to take up a new assignment of the State Government.
The letter addressed to the President of India states that,
"I am inclined to relinquish my office from 31st of March 2021 since I have already given my consent to the State Government of Chhattisgarh for new assignment. Therefore, I respectfully pray that my resignation may kindly be accepted from 31st of March 2021 afternoon."
About Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta
Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta was born on 14th April 1959 at Rajnandgaon. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Science from Awadhesh Pratap University from Rewa.
Further, he did his L.Lb from Jivaji University with first division and thereafter, continuing legacy of his father late B.S. Gupta, Retired District & Session Judge, he started his career in 1985 by joining MP Judiciary as Civil Judge in the first attempt.
He has been Legal Advisor EOW, District & Session Judge, Special Judge, Principal Judge Family Court, Legal Advisor to His Excellency Governor of Chhattisgarh.
He was elevated as an Additional Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on 27th June 2017.
