The Supreme Court collegium has recommended Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
Justice Chauhan is presently the Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court after Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan, who was its Chief Justice, got transferred as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
The Collegium comprising of CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde and Justice NV Ramana said that the judge is 'suitable in all respects' for being appointed as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
Justice Chauhan, who practiced as an Advocate in Rajasthan High Court, was elevated as Permanent Judge on 13th June 2005. He was transferred to Karnataka High Court on 10th March 2015. He took oath as Judge of High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 23.11.2018 and later became a Judge of Telangana High Court.
