In view of the sad demise of Justice Mohan Mallikarjunagouda Shantanagoudar, Supreme Court of India, the Administrative Committee of the Allahabad High Court has unanimously resolved for non-sitting of Courts in the High Court at Allahabad and Lucknow on 26th of April 2021.
Accordingly, it has been directed that there shall be no sitting of Courts in High Court at Allahabad and Lucknow on 26th of April 2021 The Acting Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Sanjay Yadav passed an order dated 25th April 2021 to this effect.

Also, the Punjab & Haryana High Court and all the Subordinate Courts of Punjab, Haryana, and UT, Chandigarh will also remain closed on Monday (April 26) on account of the demise of Justice Mohan M. Shantanagoudar.

The High Court of Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan and the subordinate courts in theses states will observe holiday today on account of the passing away of Justice Shantanagoudar.
Supreme Court judge Justice Mohan Mallikarajanagouda Shantanagoudar passed away on April 24, at the age of 62 years.
Elevated to the Supreme Court in February 2017, he had a tenure till May 5, 2023. Before his elevation to the Supreme Court, he was the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. His parent High Court was Karnataka High Court.

Remembering Justice Mohan Shantanagoudar Through His Judgments
He practiced for one year at Dharwad in the Chambers of Sri I.G. Hiregoudar, Advocate before shifting practice of Bengaluru.
He joined the Chambers of Sri Shivaraj V. Patil, Advocate (as he then was), who later adorned the Supreme Court of India. He started independent practice in the year 1984. Practiced mainly in Civil, Criminal and Constitutional matters.
He served as Vice-Chairman of Karnataka State Bar Council from 1991 to 1993 and as Chairman of Karnataka State Bar Council during 1995 and 1996. Served as State Public Prosecutor of Karnataka State from 1999 to 2002.
