Addressing a letter to the President of India Droupadi Murmu, the President of the Oudh Bar Association has condemned the scandalous, motivated, and the malicious attempt made by one RK Pathan to malign Supreme Court Judge, Justice D. Y. Chandrachud.
Deprecating the act of Pathan raising allegations in a letter/complaint against Justice Chandrachud, the President of the Association RK Choudhary has requested President Murmu to take strong penal action against the persons involved in the attempt to malign Justice Chandrachud.

The Association, through its president, has stated that Justice Chandrachud has left no stone unturned to mitigate the sufferings of the litigants at large as also the citizens of India through various landmark judgments, which have upheld the ideals of the Constitution by securing the fundamental rights of the citizens of the country.
The association further states that Justice Chandrachud's matchless knowledge and ability but also his actions speak of his utmost integrity and honesty in the dispensation of justice. Further, the association, through its president has reiterated that Justice Chandrachud holds high esteem amongst the Lawyers of the State of Uttar Pradesh.
Remembering his tenure as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, the President of the Association has also stated that Justice Chandrnchud not only conducted the Court proceedings displaying his matchless knowledge and ability but also his actions spoke of utmost integrity and honesty in the dispensation of justice while dealing with matters which came before him.
It may be noted that recently the Bar Council of India also condemned the attempts made by "some people with vested interests" to tarnish the image of Supreme Court judge Justice DY Chandrachud, who is next in line to be the Chief Justice of India.
Slamming a letter circulated by Pathan raising allegations against Justice Chandrachud, the BCI said "it is nothing but a scurrilous and malicious attempt to interfere with the functioning of Judiciary and the administration of Justice."
The timing of the letter has also been questioned in the BCI letter as it was released soon after the Union Law Minister requested the incumbent CJI UU Lalit to name his successor. The BCI noted that the complaint purportedly lodged by RK Pathan, who claims to be the President of "The Supreme Court and High Court Litigant Association", was made viral online when Justice Chandrachud is likely to be elevated as the CJI.
"Such growing tendency is really a matter of serious concern for the country and it has to be checked anyhow." the Council added.
The Bar Council pointed out that Mr.Pathan and two other persons who have filed the complaint against Justice Chandrachud, had been found guilty by the Supreme Court in a Suo Motu Contempt Petition for filing false, and baseless complaints against Supreme Court judges and were sentenced to three months simple imprisonment [In April 2020, the Supreme Court had sentenced RK Pathan and two others for contempt of court over their letters against Justices RF Nariman and Vineet Saran].
