The Central Government on Monday (May 24) notified the appointment of Justice Alok Kumar Verma of the Uttarakhand High Court as Permanent Judge.

The Notification of the Central Government in this regard reads,

"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Sri Justice Alok Kumar Verma, Additional Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court, to be Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of her office"

Additionally, the Central Government also notified the appointment of Advocate Vikas Bahl as an Additional Judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court

The Notification of the Central Government in this regard reads,

"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Sri Vikas Bahl, to be an Additional Judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of her office"

In March 2021, the Collegium had proposed the appointment of Advocate Vikas Bahl be appointed as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
