Suspended JD (S) leader Prajwal Revanna on Wednesday moved the Special court seeking anticipatory bail in three cases registered against him for allegedly sexually abusing several women.
A special court issued notice to the Special Public Prosecutor B N Jagadeesh and overruled the office objections raised by the registry. It said “The learned SPP is requested to take notice for the respondent. Sri. Jagadeesh B.N. the learned SPP who is present in the court takes notice for the respondent. At this juncture, the learned counsel for petitioner submits that he would make his submissions on the interim bail application tomorrow. Accordingly, call on 31.05.2024.”
Meanwhile, in a statement issued by the accused, he is likely to appear in person before the Special Investigation team on May 31. Earlier, the police had arrested his father HD Revanna, in a case of kidnapping of a woman, he was later granted bail by the special court. The allegations against Revanna first came to light in June last year but they had obtained a court order restraining the media from reporting.
Recently the Special Court for Elected Representatives had issued an arrest warrant against Prajwal Revanna, following an application moved by the SIT.
